The House and Senate are expected to vote Monday on a plan that would lift the nation's $14.3 trillion debt ceiling and avoid an unprecedented default on the nation's debt.
The measure would reduce deficits by at least an estimated $2.4 trillion over a decade and create a bipartisan panel to recommend fiscal reform going forward.
